Light Maintenance Technician

 Whatâ™s The Job? 

Title: Light Maintenance Technician 

Location:  Eddyville, Iowa

Wage: up to $26.33/hr (DOE)  
Hours:  Monday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm

What Will I Be Doing?  

Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:  

• Team member must be able to work and direct personnel in a team-oriented and safety conscious environment. âœSafety First❠expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures. 

• Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures 

• This position may require the ability to work without supervision and follow-up. 

• Sanitation and cleaning consist of washing down, shoveling, and sweeping, cleaning screens with the aid of respirator. 

• Maintain adherence to work schedule and work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shifts as required. 

• Assist in some maintenance, railroad, and groundwork such as (mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal). 

• Must have working knowledge and be trained to operate the following: skid steer loaders, scissors lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and hand & power tools. Clean screens and wear a respirator. 

• âœEffectively❠communicate with supervisor and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations. 

• Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment when required by the job 

• Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints. 

• Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer. 

• Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures. 

• Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning. 

• Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the companyâ™s goals and objectives 

• Meet physical requirements of the job. Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you prior to employment. 

• Perform assigned tasks in a safety, effective, and efficient manner. 

• Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion. 

• Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

• Experience: 2-5 years in industrial cleaning desirable, Industrial Maintenance knowledge preferred.

• Control Precision â” The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.  

• Manual Dexterity â” The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.  

• Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required  

• Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time  

• Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools  

• Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment  

• Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner   

• Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties 

• Communication/ Expression â”The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  

• Information Ordering â” The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
