Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of land work within the area of focus of the company, including, but not limited to obtaining rights and clearing title to support the operated rig schedule, lease maintenance, contractual and regulatory compliance, trades and acquisitions with the company’s areas of interest.
Salary commensurate with background and experience.
Oversee and perform all phases of land work within the company’s area of interest.
Ensure the company’s planned rig schedule and proactively identify and address risks to same.
Work independently and with outside counsel to clear title for drilling and division order purposes.
Prepare all documents relating to development activities, including JOA’s, leases, assignments, along with all other related agreements.
Work with company personnel to identify and carry out acquisitions and trades with third party operators.
Direct and supervise external land personnel activities.

Able to utilize and draw information from the Texas Railroad Commission website.
Bachelor's degree from four-year degree program.
Minimum of 10 years of previous job relative experience in land department.
Strong background in asset development and leasing and the associated land contracts, i.e. leases, conveying documents; JOA’s, term assignments, farmout agreements, unit agreements, etc.
Interpreting and understanding legal language associated with oil and gas contracts and documents.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of oil and gas laws, specifically the Texas statues that address probate, intestate, and descent and distribution of Texas property.
Oversee the coordination of efforts for the company’s acquisition and divestitures.
Team player who possesses the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment.
Ability to multi-task and work with various people in different capacities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other software skills.
Possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax machines.
